Auto Rental Clerk

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Auto Rental Clerk to manage our dealership’s rental operations. This role is responsible for coordinating vehicle rentals, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate rental records.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and process rental vehicle requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Verify customer identification, insurance, and payment information
  • Review rental agreements, explain terms and conditions, and obtain required signatures
  • Assign vehicles based on customer needs and fleet availability
  • Conduct vehicle inspections before and after rentals, documenting any damage
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of rental vehicles
  • Track vehicle usage, rental status, and service needs
  • Communicate with service and sales departments to coordinate internal rental needs
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and billing issues professionally
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Requirements

The Auto Rental Associate must be organized, customer-service oriented, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate various types of vehicles are required.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–2 years of customer service or automotive rental experience preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with rental management systems

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
